Description
Thursdays 6:30-7:30 pm
This restorative somatic work will free joints, improve flexibility, release unwanted muscular tension. The instructor will lead participants to perform a series of guided movement explorations and stretches to promote wellbeing and muscular balance. This movement practice includes working with elements of Eutony, a somatic movement technique created by Gerda Alexander. The word eutony, from the Greek “eu” = good, well and “tonos”= tension, expresses the idea of well-balanced tension. Guided movement explorations performed using tennis balls will lead participants to release unnecessary stored tension, restoring participants’ sense of balance and wellbeing.
Level: No dance experience required. Bring your exercise mat, a blanket (or several layers, after deep relaxation, the body temperature drops), and two tennis balls. No prior experience is needed.
