Description
This class combines somatic awareness, breath, gentle mobility, flexibility, and release techniques to support greater ease and freedom in movement. Informed by contemporary dance training and restorative practices, including elements of Gerda Alexander’s Eutony, the class helps students recognize unnecessary tension and develop a clearer relationship to weight, alignment, sensation, and range of motion.
Rather than pushing the body toward flexibility, students explore how to find clear direction in space, optimal muscular tone, and the natural rhythms of the joints. The class offers dancers a restorative complement to their training while also welcoming adults who wish to feel more open, grounded, and connected to their bodies.
